Unexpected bangs and colours, African grooves, Minimal Music, surprising instruments and crossrhythms are the ingredients of CrissCross. Crossrhythms are rhythms that suggest a different time from the present one. The result is polyrhythm, and rhythmic patterns shift, causing the beat to be undermined and even replaced by another. If you don’t know what you are hearing, you hear it properly. Fifteen players play their hearts out, continually switching instrument and place, and apparently making their own way.
